Revoltech Sci-Fi #018 Alien Queen

Warrant officer Ripley found what used to be colony LV-426 overruned by a hive full of Xenomorphs. To make matter worse, she has to deal with the Alien Queen which was rather pissed off by the intruders.

Out-of-box content. The figure along with the name tag, accessory box and base.

This is one of the biggest figure produce by Revoltech to date.

The Queen is one impressive figure. It is made out from the same transparent material used on Alien Warrior. It also spot the same hinged jaw which concealed the inner jaw. It has 2 pairs of upper limbs in contrast to the drone which only has a pair.

It also has this gigantic whip-like tail which is a deadly weapon.

Close up on this beauty. The Queen has this crest on the head which act as a big shield.

The spines on the back makes the Queen all pointy and threatening much like the porcupine.

The Queen on the croaching pose. She looks like a gigantic, oversized, hideous scorpion. =P

Due to it's size, I find it difficult to snap photos of this figure. This is one of my favourite croaching shot.

Observe these breathtaking detail. Words alone cant describe how mesmerizing this figure is. You can spend hours looking at it as if she is your Queen. =P

Last but not least, a group photo of this happy family.

As a conclusion, I am impressived by the workmanship. The figure was basically covered in detail. The articulation was a bit limited due to it's size and the Revol joints can hardly support the bulk of this figure. Scale-wise, it is a bit smaller than both previous Alien figures but it is still a beautiful figure which is highly recommended for any collector.

Revoltech Sci-Fi #016 Alien Warrior

Fifty seven years had past since the first contact with the Alien lifeform. Warrant officer Ellen Ripley was rescued and revived from stasis to facilitate the rescue of a terraforming colony. She was not prepared for what awaits her there...

Out-of-box content. This figure came with a number accessories. An egg, a base, 2 extra limbs, arms and the usual stuff.

Front view of the figure. This is another impressive figure with tons of detail on it.

This warrior design is a lot different from the previous Alien design. One reason is that the alien warriors in the second movie have been living for quite some time before they were discovered while the alien in the first movie was just a juvenile.

I am not sure if the details on this figure is movie accurate but it is very good. Observe the detail on the ribs, limbs and thighs. Every inch of this figure is covered with detail.

Back view of the figure. This figure is made of semi translucent material. Pretty neat!

Close up on the rear. Makes you wonder how they can actually sculpt and mould something like this.

This figure has an articulation which is on par with the first Alien figure.

The previous Alien figure has this spine at the back of the head which prevent the head from being raised to align with the body.

It is now possible to pose this figure on a croaching stance once you removed the jointed spine.

The warrior with the egg and base.

Alien warrior with brother Alien from the first movie.

Grab this figure while it is still available! This is the closest you can get to actually own a pet alien. Highly recommended. =D

Revoltech Sci-Fi #014 Jason Voorhees

Jason Voorhees made his first appearance in the second installment of Friday The 13th slasher movie. It all started with an accident in a camping site near Crystal Lake. A mentally disabled boy was presumed drown because of the negligence of the camp counselors. That event triggered a string of massacre and surprisingly, the one who was responsible for all these murders was the dead boy himself, an adult Jason Voorhees.

Out-of-box content. Look at the amount of accessories which came with this bad boy!

Front view of Jason. The articulation for this figure is different compare to most of the figure from Revoltech. The sculpt was superb though.

Back view of Jason. It could be me but I thought Jason should be a lot leaner than what was depicted in this figure. Someone need to dig out this old movie and verify this.

Jason with his iconic hockey goalie mask.

In the original script, Jason was a mentally disabled boy without any deformity. It was Tom Savini, a make-up artist who made Jason deformed.

Now let us check out the neat accessories which came with this figure. Here is a pitch fork. Just nice to impale anyone who crosses Jason.

An axe for chopping up logs OR bodies.

I do not recall Jason using pickaxe but I can imagine him using this without any problem.

The same goes to this handsaw. Hmmm... this makes you wonder. Which is a lot more convenient? To hack off a limb using an axe or to saw it off using a handsaw? You can always use it for carpentry too like what Jason is doing here.

Shovel is great to move dirt around OR to bury dead bodies.

A machete is a very useful tool when you are in the woods. I know, cause I have one handy in my car.

This figure comes with a base. It looks like a portion of a stable with a hanging rope with some other items scattered on the floor.

This figure comes with an extra bloodied head for Jason.

Jason with an axe stucked on his head.

The revealed bloodied head. This guy just does not know how to die!

Kaiyodo took a brave move to venture into the horror genre with the release of Jason. As an overall, this figure is not that articulated due to the design and placement of the joints. This was compensated by a large amount of accessories and a wicked looking base. All-in-all, this is still a great figure for any horror fans out there. Let us all hope that Kaiyodo will release a figure for Leatherface, Freddy and friends.

Revoltech Hokuto no Ken #020- Yuria

Yuria was first introduced as the missing fiancee of Kenshiro, who was taken away by Shin. Kenshiro was told by Shin that Yuria commited suicide for she was not able to endure the cruelty and suffering which was happening all around her. Later in the series, it was revealed that she faked her death in order to escape the clutches of Raoh. She resurfaced as the Last General of the Nanto Roku Seiken and strived to lead the Nanto to unite with the Hokuto.

Out-of-box content for this figure. Better get used to the lack of accessories. :P

Front view. I was surprised that Kaiyodo decided to release a figure of a female character in a series which was dominated by male character. Once again, the head sculpt was really well done.

Back view. This is a very petite figure. It is almost half the size of the male figure. The hair was very well sculpted and it is articulated.

The figure with the robe on.

This figure comes with the helmet which was used to hide her identity.

Although she was supposed to be the last general of the Nanto Roku Seiken, she does not know any martial art. Even so, she was able to influence a lot of people using her charisma alone.

Yuria was guided by the Star of the Compassionate Mother.

Yuria with the helmet on. The helmet was really unneccessary. It might account to something if the figure comes with a set of the general's armour.

All in all, this is the first and I believe the last female figure that will grace this line of release. It is very well sculpted but unfortunately there are not much that you can do with it.
