Max Factory Bio Fighter Collection #2 Aptom

Aptom is an interesting character. Nothing was reviewed about his past and the only thing we knew about him was that he was a "Lost Number" working under Gyuot. Being a "Lost Number" means that Aptom fails to complete his processing into a preset Zoanoid and end up being processed into a Zoanoid with unusual ability.

Initially, he has this ability to mimic the weapons of other Zoanoid and to some degree the Guyver but his weapons are somewhat weak compare to the original. After his defeat in the hands of Guyver 1, Zoalord Barcus took him in and reprocess him. This reprocess change him into an entire different being. He no longer mimics but now capable of copying and improve upon the weapons of other Zoanoids he absorbed. He also gain cellular regeneration where he can regenerate any part of his body. He challenge Guyver 1 once again but was promptly defeated. Aptom swear to take revenge against Guyver 1 and went about increasing his ability by targeting and absorbing the "Hyper Zoanoid Elite Five".

This is Aptom after he has absorb 4 of the Elite 5. Basically, this form is almost the exact replica of Zx-Tole where as Zx-Tole is big and stout but Aptom is elegant and agile. Someone told me that he looks like an overgrown cockroach in this form. :P

The tentacles were from Elegen and the head beam was from Zx-Tole. There are 3 interchangable part for the forehead. The normal piece, the head beam piece and the missile piece.

These are the weapons that have been used on numerous occasion, the bio-missiles which were taken from Gastor. There are two types of them. I wonder if they are the same or they serve a different purposes.

In the series, Aptom can literally transform his whole body mass into bio-missiles! Those missiles stick out like porcupine quills.

Aptom gains the ability to fly after absorbing Zx-Tole's ability. The figures come with an identical transparent wings similiar to Zx-Tole. You will most likely need to use the stand if you want to pose him with the wings.

This is another great figure from Max Factory. It is a must have any Guyver fans out there. :D

Max Factory Bio Fighter Collection #5+ Guyver 1

Fukamachi Sho is Guyver 1, the protagonist of the manga Bio Booster Guyver. He was a seventeen year old school boy whose live changes dramatically after he stumble upon and activate a Guyver Unit, transforming him into Guyver 1.

The Guyver Unit was an alien artifact that was created by an ancient race called the Creator. Once activated, the Guyver unit will bind itself with the host in a process which will boost the prowess of it's host.

Max Factory has done a great job with the sculpt. There is little to no complain from me.

The detail on the figure especially the head is outstanding. I love the eyes, they are made of some translucent material. The control metal, gravity orbs, sensory orbs and vents are all in place. The only thing that stood out like a sore thumb is that metal rod that holds the chest piece to the body of the figure.

One of the main weapon of the Guyver's is the high frequency blade, which can cut through any known material. Guyver 1 comes with 2 of those, one on each wrist.

I love posing Guyver 1 with the frequency blade. It really brings out the beauty of the figure.

Another arsenal for the Guyver unit is the pressure cannon. The pressurized cannon was created using the gravity orb on the torso. It was then used on the enemy in the fashion of throwing a baseball. It could be a tribute to baseball which is very popular in Japan.

The weapon which pack the most firepower among the Guyvers are the megasmasher which is located in the chest cavity of the Guyver. This weapon is usually concealed/protected by the chest plate.

The last thing that most Zoanoid will see is the Guyver opening the chest plate to reveal the megasmasher before they are blast into oblivion.

This release comes with an extra head that depict Sho pulling off a piece of the head armor to show his face. Who does not like extra content?

The Bio Fighter Collection is the best action figure money can buy out there. I kind of regrets that i did not buy any of those figures early and now i have to pay close to premium for them. It is still money well spend because Max Factory will most likely not going to re-release any of those.
