Yabui Kururu Robo

Since our useless leader insisted that I step out of my room. I thought why not take the time to test drive the latest robot in our our arsenal

This bike is the standard issue. Everyone gets one in the base.

OZ-13MS Gundam Epyon

Treize has been intrigued by the Gundams and so designed a mobile suit which he called Epyon based on the data from the Tallgeese and the other Gundams.

Front view of Epyon. Epyon resembles Wing Gundam both in mobile suit and mobile armour mode.

The segmented heat-rod is the main weapon on Epyon.

Epyon also uses a beam sword to compliment it's heat rod.

Mobile armour mode also known as Dragon Mode.
This model was build in conjunction to a group build organize by a group of modellers in LYN. It has been a while since I have not build anything so the group build provided a good excuse for me to start modelling again. I have no idea why I choose to work with Epyon. The most likely reason is that it has been a very special mobile suit for me since Gundam Wing was the first show which got me hooked to gunpla a few decades ago.

The assembly of the model kit was straightforward and I have to say that I am impressed with the design of the newer model. I did not make any modification to the model kit due to the fact that there is little much you can do to improve it. For the colour scheme, I used a reference from Hobby Japan and make slight changes to suit me better.

At the end of the day, I did not win anything from that group build but I have lots of fun building and painting this kit. Now this kit resides in my display cabinet along with my other model kits.

Ronin Giroro Robo

I have no idea what that idiot Keroro is thinking so I might as well take things into my own hand.
 photo DSC_0455_zps75989325.jpg
That looks like cool ride.

 photo DSC_0459_zpsebe89444.jpg
Definitely makes life a lot easier for me.

I cant wait to try out this new arsenal of mine. A soldier got to get familiar with his weapons.
 photo DSC_0461_zpsb7bdf41d.jpg
I have got to congratulate that Pekoponian scientist who made this. This robot is oozing awesomeness.
 photo DSC_0449_zps6319a391.jpg
Now! Who wants a piece of my Ronin Robot.
 photo DSC_0464_zps7eab191b.jpg
Let us start with some basic movement procedure.
 photo DSC_0467_zps92653a9e.jpg
Turning side ways is a piece of cake.

 photo DSC_0469_zps19caeb53.jpg
Walking backward does not seems to be an issue.

 photo DSC_0483_zps22d795b7.jpg
Time to test out the cannon.

 photo DSC_0474_zps6e920eaf.jpg
I would love to punch someone in the face with this!

 photo DSC_0490_zpsf22f837b.jpg
The alternative form for this robot is an artillery.

Our enemies will not know what hit em!
I wonder if I can impressed Natsumi with this robot...

See ya 2011! Welcome 2012!

Time does fly. We are once again in the beginning of a new year and what better time than present to look back into 2011 for a little bit of reminiscence.

2011 was a busy year for me. I have managed to keep this blog alive by posting 31 entry which is an increase of around 55% compare to the previous year. If times permit, I will keep up with this achievement or even set a new record for year 2012. My new target is a new post for every week. That will translate to around 50 post by the end of the year.

Regrettably, I have been slacking in terms of my model kit production. As of the end of 2011, I have managed to complete only 2 kits, both of them VF-25 from the Macross Frontier series, leaving a bunch of half-build kits on pending status. I would have to revisit my backlog again this year. Not trying to be too ambitious so I will aim to complete at least 3 kits this year.

In terms of reading, I have managed to read at least 5 novels. Most of them were books which I have bought a few years back. Some were borrowed from a friend (Thanks Reuben!) of mine who share the same passion with me. At the moment, I have another 2 books which needs reading and I am still waiting for a book from bookdepository. Hope to keep up with this reading habits for this new year.

And as for spending on new collectibles or gadgets. All in all, I do not think I actually spend much on those this year. I have been restraining myself from buying any model kits lately but I have bought a number of figures such as the Jetwing Prime, Warmachine, X, Zero, Gaogaigar, and Shaina just to name a few. I think it was around 1 figure a month. As for gadgets, I have bought myself an Ipad 2. I have to agree that this is a piece of a neat technology. Still exploring the potential of this awesome gadget. I do not foresee myself buying a lot of figures (there are not a lot of future release which catches my attention) but I am actually looking forward to get myself a PS Vita. Still pondering about it but I will most likely made my decision before I leave for Hong Kong.

Last but not least. I have traveled to India in 2011. It was the most enjoyable outdoor trip to date. I will definitely write an entry on that trip soon.

Oh my, what have I done! I should excuse myself now before this gets too lengthy. So until then, Happy New Year to you all out there. :D

RX-93-2 Hi Nu Gundam

The RX-93-v-2 aka Hi Nu Gundam was an alternate interpretation of Amuro's Nu Gundam in Mobile Suit Gundam: Beltorchika's Children. It is the pinnacle product of Mobile Suit technology. Unlike the Nu Gundam, the Hi Nu Gundam has a complete frame which came with a unique tri-booster system. These boosters were capable of great accelerations and the propellant tanks extended the duration of time the boosters could remain active. This MS also spot a complete fin funnel system. Another improvement on the Hi Nu is that it could recharge the fin funnel's power supply, extending their performance time and range to much higher levels than those of previous remote weapons.

This bad boy was my first commission work.

The colour scheme of black and white was used for this Hi Nu with some silver for highlight.

This kits comes with your standard beam rifle, beam saber and a shield.

I took the liberty to change the forearm machine gun into a beam weapon. Who needs 2 beam saber when you can do this?

I have a lot of fun building this kit. The only regret that I have is that the kit is not mine. Now I understand why some modeler charge such a high price for a commission work. Each and every model no matter how good or bad the end product is, is still build with a tremendous amount of time and effort. The feeling of parting with a model you build is like the feeling of giving up your child for adoption. Well at least I know that I can always look at it every time I am in KK.

Welcome Odd 2011!

Its the beginning of a new year and there are going to be some changes around here. First of all, I will try to work on a new look for this rundown blog of mine. Its been the same for more than 2 years and it can definitely use a face lift.

Secondly, I have decided to spend less time on scale modeling due to numerous reason. I know those stash wont build themselves but I have to set my priority. Going to miss it a lot but it is all for the best.

Last but not least, there will be more non hobby-related post starting this year. Its not that I am running out of topic to blog but it never hurts to have a bit of a variety. Its more refreshing that way.

With that, lets give 2011 all our best!

VF-25G Super Messiah Michael Version

Here is another Macross Frontier entry for Super Messiah Michael version in battroid mode.

A few front shot of the Vf25g. The head design is unique and somewhat resemble a mono-eye.

Close up on the groin. Extreme care must be taken when you try to pose this kit or else you will end up with numerous scratched-decal like me. :\

This kit comes with tons of decal so a bulk of my time was used to apply the decal. There are still room for improvement with my decaling skill.

One of the selling point for the Super Messiah is the big booster. It looks more aerodynamic compare to the armored booster.

Michael in the cockpit. He was an interesting character but too bad, he was killed halfway through the anime.

I love the sexy legs. :P

Another selling point for this kit is the sniper rifle. Its exclusive used by Michael since he was one of the best sniper in SMS.

The sniper rifle needs to be deployed before it can be used.

I am too lazy to summarize all those information regarding Vf25g and it's pilot. You should go to wikipedia if you would like to read more regarding the subject.

Until then, see you all later!

Ashigaru Tamama Robo

Gunsou-san!!! You should not hog the spot light all by yourself! How am I going to get the affection from you if I do not win the hearts of the Pekoponians first. So please step aside and let my "moeness" do the job!

Hehe. This time I am playing the role of a Ashigaru (foot soldier) in the shogun period. But mind you! I am not a helpless cannon fodder!

Since Gunsou-san refuse to let me touch his ride so i have Kururu along with that slave scientist build me an exact copy. Now I can follow Gunsou-san everywhere he goes! Ehe!

I can dock my bike to the Ashigaru robot and gain control of it. BIKE ON!!!

Side view.

Rear view.

Salute! All hail the great Keron Empire!!!

You definitely do not want me to stick you with this. By the way, where is that pesky woman... Ano onna!!!

This robo has an alternative form as kraken. Now I can go cruise the sea with Gunsou-san! Love love desu!!!

Different view for the alternative form.

Close up on the interior of the robo.

Eh? Where did Gunsou-san go? I want to impress him with this awesome mecha of mine! Ehe!
