Robot Damashii Doraemon

Known as the robot cat from the future. Doraemon was sent back in time by a young boy named Sewashi Nobi to change the circumstances of his great grandfather, Nobita Nobi so that his descendants (Sewashi is one of them) may enjoy a better future.

Out-of-box content. The accessories come in the form of eye plates, facial expression and some futuristic gadget.

Doraemon with it's ears. This is not canon since Doraemon cannot be blue and still retains it's ears.

 photo DSCN0309_zps375a556b.jpg
This is the usual depiction of Doraemon. I would say this is the best figure of Doraemon to date.

Back view of Doraemon. That is a round head alright.

 photo DSCN0318_zps0bc63b05.jpg
A lot of engineering work has been poured into designing this figure. The joints at the arm spot one of the most complicated joint design which I find difficult to describe.

 photo DSCN0323_zpse880fbe5.jpg
Doraemon comes with 2 separate facial plate which can be swapped onto the figure for different facial expression.

 photo DSCN0328_zpsd355eb97.jpg
Doraemon is happy.

 photo DSCN0330_zps9332311e.jpg
Doraemon is mad.

 photo DSCN0343_zpsc8ba6380.jpg
The eye plates can be mixed and match to create some unique expression. Nothing lightens up Doraemon's like a dorayaki.

 photo DSCN0351_zps9945b0a0.jpg
Another widely used gadget. The small/big light.

 photo DSCN0355_zpsc10a71e5.jpg
Last but not least, the take-copter which enable the user to fly.

 photo DSCN0336_zps89ec119a.jpg
This is how Doraemon will react everytime it sees a mouse.

 photo DSCN0345_zpse7bb357a.jpg
Why oh why!!!My beloved Dorayaki!

 photo DSCN0348_zps423153cf.jpg
I almost forgot about the air cannon. Die you fiend!!!
It is difficult for me to admit that I was and still is a Doraemon fan deep down inside. This is the figure to get if you are looking for a Doraemon figure which is pose able with some degree of articulation. In fact, I have to admit that I have a lot of fun posing it while taking photos of it. Grab this figure before it returns to our future!

Revoltech #123EX Hunter Swordsman Azure Rathalos

Azure Rathalos is a subspecies from the Rathalos family. It provides carve material which can be used to make an entirely different sets of equipment.

Out-of-box content. The hunter depicted in this release is wearing a full set Azure Rathalos armour.

There are basically no difference between the 2 figure besides the colour scheme.
 photo DSC_0170_zps4dae7675.jpg
The great sword is still a pain-in-the-ass to prop up.
 photo DSC_0174_zpsa101a2d3.jpg
The detail on both the figure and weapons are superb.
 photo DSC_0177_zpsd8251177.jpg
Great sword upward swing!
 photo DSC_0181_zps0875780f.jpg
Jumping slash. No, you cant do that in the game. It looks great though.
 photo DSC_0185_zps3b7eb6f8.jpg
Downward slam! The effect part is useful to capture the motion.
 photo DSC_0196_zps74ed8fce.jpg
A comparison of both the great sword. Rathalos Firesword and Shiny Rathalos Sword.
 photo DSC_0195_zps0d7455c1.jpg
Monster Hunter PvP!!! No, this does not happen. =P
My comment on the previous Rathalos Hunter figure applies here too since it is basically the same figure with a different colour scheme. Once again, I would like to point out the weakness in the Revoltech joint which is unable to withstand huge amount of weight. Hence, it is very difficult to prop this figure up without the usage of the stand and in most cases, the stand does very little to support the figure. It makes matter worse if the great sword was equipped on the figure.

As a conclusion, the detail on the figure is topnotch but the the flimsy joints make it less desirable. That aside, it is still a must-have for any Monster Hunter fans out there.

Super Robot Chogokin - Genryujin & Gouryujin

Both Hyoryu and Enryu was miraculously brought back to life due to the mysterious energy call The Power. In order to save their brothers from meeting a certain doom facing the Z-Masters, both of them split up to join the battle with their younger brothers.

Result of Symmetrical Docking between Hyoryu and Rairyu when their SympaRate exceeded 200%. This level was made possible when one of the robots were charged by The Power, a mysterious energy taken from the planet Jupiter. His abilities include "Aurora Illusion" (which makes illusory ice copies as decoys) and "Thunder Blizzard" (which functions exactly like Shuang Tou Long).

This level was made possible when one or both of the robots were charged with The Power, a mysterious energy taken from the planet Jupiter. His main attack is "Burning Hurricane" (which works like Shuang Tou Long).

They can stand toe-to-toe with the Z-Masters.

One of the reason why I decided to get Gekiryujin (which is a Tamashii Limited release) was that I can combine the both half of Gekiryujin and Chouryujin to get Genryujin and Gouryujin. Instead of 2 mechas, now I can practically pose them as 4 different mechas. Anyway, Gekiryujin is definitely a great buy so grab one if you are a fan of the Brave series.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown

A collective alien race shows up on earth and start an invasion campaign. A group of countries called the Council of Nations has banded together to create XCOM, an elite military and scientific organization tasked with defending them from the alien attack.

This is a reboot of the original game which was release back in 1994. I remember playing this game back in those days. It brings back nostalgic memory where I remember playing this game for countless hour, exchanging strategies and stories with my friends and siblings. When 2K Games announced that they are coming up with a reboot for this game, naturally I was ecstatic.

I bought the game on day one and it was money well spend. If you have yet to try it out, go and grab it. Trust me. This game will not disappoint you if you are a strategy game enthusiast.

D-Arts Zero Type 2

The red Maverick Hunter, Zero was given a heavy and sharp armour design starting from the second installment of the series.

The biggest difference between X and Zero is the later is equipped with a Z-Saber.

 photo DSC_0197_zps14924ac1.jpg
Behold my Z Saber! The usage of the Z Saber introduce a new play style for the Mega Man X series.
 photo DSC_0208_zpsff40690c.jpg
Articulation for this figure is good but still somehow limited in certain area.

 photo DSC_0206_zps7453a13c.jpg
You want some of this?

 photo DSC_0202_zps24926f9b.jpg
Zero is more than capable of slicing his enemy into pieces with this saber.

 photo DSC_0201_zpsbb73e239.jpg
Dive-stab attack. One of my favourite moves.

I have been a fan of the series for a long time so it is no surprise that I bought this figure when it was released. Design-wise, this figure is a bit different from the first Zero. The most prominent difference is the gold/yellow highlight along with the square shoulder pad. I preferred the slimmer design of the first version but I have no regrets getting this.

Super Robot Chogokin - Gekiryujin

Gekiryujin is the Symmetrical-Docked form of Furyu and Rairyu from the King of Braves Gaogaigar series. It's name roughly translate to Attacking Dragon God in English. Just like it's namesake, Gekiryujin is build solely for the purpose being an offensive unit. Considered the "younger brother" to Choryujin, and is overall closer to Rairyu than Furyu in personality

Out-of-box content. Comes with enough accessories to complete this figure.

Shuang Tou Long (Twin Headed Dragon in Chinese)!

In the later chapter, the corps have to venture into space to defeat the Z-Master. Gekiryujin was outfitted with boosters to increase mobility.

 photo DSC_0372_zps16072b83.jpg
Gekiryujin along with his brother, Choryujin.
I have always been a fan of the Gaogaigar series and Gekiryujin is a must for me. Choryujin was a good figure but it does not look imposing. Gekiryujin, on the other hand is a different figure. Although both mecha share the same fundamental design, the shield and the cannon gives this figure an aura of a mighty robot. The only problem with this figure is that this is a Tamashii Limited release which means that you have to prepare to pay a hefty amount of money for it. At least, Bandai has the decency to include the booster in this release instead of releasing it separately as a addon.

If you are into collecting this line and you do have the money to spare then this is definitely a figure for you.
