Revoltech Sci-Fi #049 Iron Man Mark XLII

Mark 42 was another Iron Man suit which was design by Tony Stark while he was suffering from severe anxiety after the Chitauri invasion.

Out-of-box content. This is standard issue for Revoltech.

HONK!!! HONK!!!

 photo DSC_0387_zps7719e14b.jpg
Apparently this suit is still in the testing phase so it falls apart easily.
There is nothing much to say regarding this figure. It was more or less similar to the previous release with some minor changes to the design and paint scheme. Mark 42 comes in the inverted gold-red scheme which looks great. The finishing was just your average Revoltech standard. Articulation was good thanks to the Revoltech joints but there were still space for improvement. After producing more than half a dozen Iron Man figures and Kaiyodo have yet to figure out a way to conceal those joints. Not sure if stupid or lazy. That aside, the earlier Iron Man releases have one or two extra gimmicks such as the concealed missiles, LED arc reactor, booster flaps and etc. This release have non of those! Once again, not sure if lazy of being cheap. The only redeeming feature on this figure was the detail. There were detail all over the figure from panel lines to the different layers of armour. Fans like me will be sucked into getting this figure for the look and design of the Mark 42 suit. I expect this trend to continue on for another 3-5 figures before the Iron Man fever dies off. Let us all hope that Kaiyodo does not plan to release the other remaining 34 suits from the third Iron Man movies.

Revoltech Sci-Fi #045 Iron Man Mark I

What would you do when you were caught by a bunch of terrorist and were forced to produce weapons for the said group? Build an armour and free yourself from your captors! That is how Tony Stark did it!

Out-of-the-box content. Nothing much to see here.

Front view of the figure. It is not pretty but looks cool nevertheless.

Front close up. The asymmetrical design of this suit is very appealing.

This figure comes with a lot of detailing and weathering.

Is that something like a power regulator unit?

Let us heat up the party!
 photo DSC_0050_zps902c9a3c.jpg
I am exhausted after partying all night.
Here is another Iron Man figure from Revoltech. I was a bit reluctant to get this initially because it was one of the most ugly Iron Man suit out there. Despite that, it has some redeeming features such as the realistic design, good articulation and good amount of weathering. My only problem on the figure was Tony Stark. Yup Tony Stark! This figure was suppose to depict Tony Stark in the Mark I armour but there was no single visage that this Mark I was actually worn by him. It was as if this figure was of a robot build upon the Mark I armour. All in all, it was still a very good depiction of the Mark I armour so grab it if you want to complete your Iron Man figure collection. Makes you wonder how long we will have to keep this up.

Revoltech Sci-Fi #025 EX Iron Man Mark IV

I could not resist the temptation and finally bought myself the very illusive Iron Man Mark IV which was a limited edition figure.

The revolving joints can provide a wide range of articulation.

Three, two, one, take off!

 photo DSC_0541_zps428f3092.jpg
Those effect parts are good to portray the figure in certain action such as in mid flight.

Repulsor ray!

Want to have a iron-fist sandwich?
Mark IV was basically a recoloured Mark VI with some minor differences. That means that Mark IV has every single flaw which was present in the Mark VI and I have covered all those in my Mark VI review. Since this was a limited edition figure, most reseller was demanding for a premium price for this figure. Some reseller was asking USD200 for this on ebay! I bet there will always be someone who is willing to cough out that amount of money for this but I am definitely not that guy. Fortunately for me, I have managed to secure this figure around the actual retail price. All in all, Mark IV is basically identical to Mark VI. If you are a diehard fan or just wanted to complete your Iron Man figure collection from the Revoltech series then by all means grab it if you come across it at around retail price. If not, you can just grab Mark VI and forget about Mark IV.

Revoltech #133 Hunter Swordsman Jinouga

Jinouga is the flagship monster for Monster Hunter Portable 3rd and with it's addition comes equipment created with it's carve.

 photo DSC_0004_zps46f0658b.jpg
Out-of-box content. Not much but I am impressed that Revoltech includes 2 sets of weapon.

Close up on the figure. Once again, I am impressed with the detail.

Dual Sword Oppressor's Miracle and Long Sword Oppressor's Law.

 photo DSC_0012_zpsfc59e66a.jpg
The long sword comes in 2 form. A sheath and unsheathe version.

 photo DSC_0014_zpsf197ee06.jpg
The unsheathe long sword can be attached to the back of the figure.

The hunter with the unsheathe long sword.

 photo DSC_0017_zpse3cfa618.jpg
Somehow i feel that this long sword is a bit too blunt. Where are those whetstone when you need em?

 photo DSC_0024_zps9280dee8.jpg
"I have the POWER!!!"

 photo DSC_0029_zpsf2291394.jpg
I am a big fan of dual sword. Nothing beats slicing up monster using one of these.

 photo DSC_0032_zps554a2cfc.jpg
There are an amazing amount of detail on the swords.

 photo DSC_0035_zps9aa0a17f.jpg
Ready for some attack pose!

Forward slash.

 photo DSC_0045_zps5757fb77.jpg
Side slash.

 photo DSC_0026_zpscf863b94.jpg
Lets go pal!
This is a great figure from Kaiyodo. I cannot emphasized enough the amount of detail on figures from the Monster Hunter line. Looking at this figure brings back fond memories of days gone by where I go hunting with my buddies. I am still holding to the hope that Capcom will one day come to it's senses to release a Monster Hunter game on the PS Vita.

Revoltech Sci-Fi #042 Iron Man Mark VII

The Chitauri invasion has taken it's toll on the Mark VI armour. In a desperate attempt to save his own life, Tony equipped himself with a special bracelet which enable the launch and the usage of the Mark VII armour.

 photo DSC_0133_zps27cd6602.jpg
Out-of-box content. Look at that pitiful amount of accessories.

 photo DSC_0140_zpse898fbc6.jpg
Front view of the figure.

 photo DSC_0142_zps56795245.jpg
Close up on the figure.
 photo DSC_0149_zps44a5b27b.jpg
The design and the articulation of this figure is good.

 photo DSC_0153_zps30a2169e.jpg
I dont know how to describe it but Mark VII seems more streamline compare to the previous armour.

 photo DSC_0168_zps103a8c95.jpg
The figure comes with a pair of compulsory repulsor beam effect.

 photo DSC_0156_zps9700a8ad.jpg
Preparing for takeoff!
 photo DSC_0170_zpsc056308b.jpg
The only gimmick on this figure is the flaps at the back of the figure.

 photo DSC_0158_zpsc089358e.jpg

 photo DSC_0162_zps084d93b8.jpg
The flaps concealed thrusters which improved flight capacity.
Another Iron Man released from Kaiyodo. Frankly speaking I am not impressed by it. The design of the armour is very eye-catching but the credit goes to the suit designer not the figure sculptor. The figure is plaque with a lot of issues. Firstly, the finishing is as bad as the previous release. You should consider yourself lucky if you get one without paint peeling off due to parts sticking to each other during packing. That aside, the paint will peeled off with the slightest scratch. Secondly, the problem with the joints are still very apparent. The revolver joints cant support the weight of the figure especially those located on the knee and heel. Last but no least, this release is a step backwards in terms of accessories/gimmick. The releases before this comes with extra effect part, a head sculpt and some even comes with light gimmick! Mark VII only comes with a pair of repulsor effect and 2 extra pairs of hand. On top of that, the only gimmick which comes with this figure is the flap? You got to be kidding me???

I have mixed feeling for this figure. If you can overlook those shortcoming then by all means go grab this figure.
